Join our friends from the Métis Nation of Ontario for a virtual dot art workshop. Dot art is a contemporary art form inspired by Métis beadwork where beads are replaced by small dots of colourful paint. Dot art was first used in the Métis context by artist Christie Bel-court. The Métis people are well known for their floral beadwork, which was used to decorate clothing, bags, and other items.
Participants will need the following supplies:
- Canvas or Paper
- Paint
- Fine tip paintbrushes or small thin dowels
- Pencils
- Alternatively, small rocks, bingo dabbers, markers, or toothpicks can be used
Space is limited. Registration required. Registered attendees will receive a Zoom link via email prior to the start of the program. Only one registration is required per family.
